A man and a woman who have never met before find themselves in the same sleeping carriage of a train.
After the initial embarrassment they both go to sleep, the woman on the top bunk, the man on the lower.
In the middle of the night the woman leans over, wakes the man and says, "I'm sorry to bother you, but I'm awfully cold and I was wondering if you could possibly get me another blanket."
The man leans out and, with a glint in his eye, says, "I've got a better idea... just for tonight, let's pretend we're married."
The woman thinks for a moment. "Why not," she giggles.

Mary J. Blige & Jay-Z: Heart of the City Tour

Two of the biggest names in Hip-Hop and R&B will be sharing a bill this year. Jay-Z and Mary J. Blige will take off on a 25-date North American co-headlining tour together beginning next month in Miami.
The "Mary J. Blige & Jay-Z: Heart of the City" tour will kick off at Miami's American Airlines Arena and go on to cover the East coast while also stopping off in New Orleans, Houston, Las Vegas and Oakland, according to a press release. The tour will also hit L.A.'s Hollywood Bowl on April 16th.
The first time the two headliners worked together was back in 1996 on the classic "Can't Knock the Hustle" off Jay's first album, Reasonable Doubt, and since then their separate careers have each taken off.
Mary has eight platinum and multi-platinum albums under her belt with six Grammys on her shelf while Jay has also earned multiple Grammys, American Music Awards and VMA wins. Together, the two headliners have sold 70 million albums world wide and boast 12 Grammy wins.
The "Mary J. Blige & Jay-Z:Heart of the City" tour will feature music from Jay's 2006 Kingdom Come album and his heavily praised 2007 concept album American Gangster.
Mary will also perform songs from her current album, Growing Pains. The Queen of Hip-Hop/Soul's eighth release went platinum in three weeks and is still holding steady in the top 10 on Billboard in its seven weeks on the charts.

Student Not Allowed on Campus Due to Haircut

Officials with the Lafayette Parish School Board say a 14 year old boy who is sporting an unusual haircut will not be allowed to return to school until he conforms to board policy. But as it turns out the haircut wasn't the boys idea it was his mothers way of trying to enforce discipline.
"I cut his hair as a discipline tool. It's a bad haircut for bad behavior." That's what Laura Jones says her son Deontraye McLennan needs and deserves. Especially after he brought home a report card that she says is just as bad as his haircut.
The haircut was so bad, Deontraye decided to skip school because he was embarrassed. But the defiant 14 year-old didn't just go home. He hitchhiked from Carencro to Palmetto which is about 35 miles away.
He even bought a stolen scooter from a stranger to help him make the trip to a family member's house. But once his mom found him safe and sound Jones went to Carencro middle school to see about Deontraye skipping class.
And that's when Jones says administrators told her that this is unacceptable and action would be taken against the haircut. Since Jones was told her son's haircut was extreme, she was directed to the school's handbook and administrators say what's in the handbook will be strictly enforced.
According to the handbook, designs shaven into the head are not permitted. Deputy Superintendent Katherine Landry says the student will not be allowed in school until he complies.
Regardless of what happens from this point, Deontraye says the embarrassing haircut has changed his attitude. School Board Leaders say the Principal's actions were correct in handling the situation.
Right now, the case is being appealed to interim Superintendent Brunel Lemoine.

One question I'd ask the kid though... If he had money to buy a stolen scooter why didn't he just pay a barber to fix his hair? Now I know why his ass got bad grades in school...

Benzino & Dave Mays Launch New Hip Hop Mag

MONSTA magazine is a new venture from the former Source magazine owners Dave Mays and Raymond "Benzino" Scott. Benzino states that MONSTA is poised to crush the competition. Apparently Dasun Allah, former Source EIC and writer for the Star & Buc Wild Morning Show, is also involved with the development of MONSTA.

"We're coming right after The Source, XXL, Vibe and Complex,". "I don't even know if [Complex] is selling that many magazines, but them too. Give us one year and believe me we'll be knocking The Source, XXL, Vibe and all of the other mags out the box." -Raymond Scott

The debut issue of MONSTA hits newsstands on February 12.

Game Cops Plea Deal (Gets 4 Months)

Rather than fight the felony gun charges that he was hit with last year, platinum rapper The Game has opted to face the music in a Los Angeles jail.
The West Coast rapper (born Jayceon Taylor) is being accused of making criminal threats, possessing a firearm in a school zone, and exhibiting a firearm in the presence of an officer after allegedly getting into a fight during a pick-up game of basketball.
The alleged incident went down at South L.A.'s Rita Walters Educational Learning Complex on February 24 of last year. The Game pled not guilty to all charges in September and was looking at five years if convicted.
Now The Game has changed his mind, opting to save his money instead of fight the case. Game says that he's copping to guilt in court, even though he's really innocent.

"The crazy part about this is that I've had guns before in my life," he explained. "But this time I didn't have a gun. And because one person said I had a gun and coaxed his homies into saying that I had a gun, I'm in a predicament where I'm asking, Do I want to spend another million dollars to fight this trial so who knows what jury's gonna come in and say I'm guilty? Or do I want to save my money, go sit down for four months and accept this felony they're trying to give me for no reason?"

Brandy Claims Kim Kardashian Scammed Her For $120,000

Not only was Kim Kardashian getting filmed by Ray J, she was also shopping on Brandy's credit cards without permission. As the story goes, Kim K was Brandy's stylist in 06/07....

She had access to Brandy's credit cards and supposedly ran up over $120,000 in charges.
Of course Brandy's momma filed a lawsuit, not only naming Kim Kardashian but also her siblings Khloe, Kourtney and Robert Jr.
Allegedly... they even went shopping at their family owned store with Brandy's Amex. Damn, that's low.

New Nas Album Gets Pushed Back (Again)

The album was supposed to come out in February with the first single coming out in January. But it looks like Nas will not be dropping the controversial, “Nigger,” album during Black History Month. We just learned the album will not be hitting stores this month. A single should however be released in the near future. Nas' last album, “Hip Hop Is Dead,” went gold and sold over 750,000 records. We'll see how this goes...

Pimp C's Death Caused By Cough Syrup

The Los Angeles County Coroner’s office has revealed that UGK member Chad “Pimp C.” Butler’s death was caused by prescription cough syrup and a preexisting sleeping condition.

Assistant chief coroner Ed Winter said that the rapper did not overdose, but died from ingesting Promethazine and Codeine, which is frequently mixed with flavored candy and mixed to make a drink known as “sizzurp.”

The concoction also took the lives of legendary Houston DJ, DJ Screw in 2000 and rapper Big Moe, who died of a heart attack in 2007.

Winter also said Pimp C. suffered from sleep apnea, a common sleeping disorder that blocks the air passages during sleep.

"Sleep apnea, you stop breathing," Winter told The Houston Chronicle. "Coupled with a medication that suppresses your respiratory abilities, you end up with an accidental death."

Pimp C, 33, was found dead in his Los Angeles hotel room on December 4, 2007.

According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, the abuse of prescription cough medicine is on the rise, especially in young adults.

As many as one in every 14 high school seniors have said that they used cold medicine “fairly recently” to get high.

“It’s bad that kids are buying cough syrup and using it this way — it’s not good for them,” said John P. Walters, director of the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy.

UGK group member Bun B. will give his first performance since Pimp C’s death this Friday (February 8) at the Warehouse in Houston, Texas.

Eddie Murphy sells his California home for $6.1 million

Actor Eddie Murphy has sold his Californian home for a reported $6.1m.

The ‘Nutty Professor’ star shared the 10-bedroom mansion in Granite Bay, California, with his ex-wife Nicole, who filed for divorce in 2005 after 12 years of marriage.

The couple - who purchased the property in 1998 - used it as a holiday home with their five children Bria, 19, Miles, 16, Shane Audra, 14, Zola Ivy, 9, and six-year-old Bella Zahra.

It features a home theater with an arcade, tennis court, gymnasium, swimming pool, spa and outdoor kitchen complete with a barbecue.

The 11,000 sq ft mansion has views of the nearby Folsom Lake, and is situated on 2.5 acres of land.

As well as 10 bedrooms, the property comes with a detached 5,200 sq ft guest house which has two additional suites.

Nicole - who legally separated from Eddie in October 2006 and is now rumoured to be dating American football star Michael Strahan - has also reportedly put her own house, located in Calabases, California, up for sale for nearly $10 million.

The sale comes shortly after Eddie split from ‘wife’ Tracey Edmonds. The couple ‘married’ in a ceremony on a private island near Bora Bora, but split two weeks later before they made their union legal in the US.

The 46-year-old actor also has a 17-year-old son, Christian, from his relationship with Tamara Hood, and an eight-month-old daughter, Angel Iris, with Spice Girls star Mel B.

Hrmm seems as though 50 Cent has had enough of the Hotel Hairess. During his performance at the Paris Hilton-hosted pre-Super Bowl party for 944 magazine, 50 Cent gave a shout out to Paris, who then started singing in the front row.

When the princess decided to get onstage and dance, the rapper's crew and stagehands quickly instructed her to "Get the f**k off the stage." She started to cry and tried to plead with the party's production staff to let her dance, whining, "But it's my party!" I wonder if Ciara had anything to do with that public display of aggression...

What a comeback!!! Eli Manning is the real deal and he definitely pulled it off tonight!!! Manning brothers back to back champions. The undefeated Patriots had no answer for the Giant defense. So much for their perfect season! We saw crowds of people take to the streets of New York in light of the win tonight and even the cops were screaming about the win on thier cruiser intercoms!

Floyd Mayweather Jr sets up Huge Event Next Week

Floyd Mayweather Jr. is busy these days and not just with his Boxing ventures. Last year Floyd Mayweather Jr. tested the waters in entertainment promotions and this year is taking that experience to a whole new level. According to Leonard Ellerbe, Mayweather Jr's close friend and advisor, next weekend in Mayweather Jr's hometown, Grand Rapids, Mayweather Jr. is giving fans the "Mayweather Experience."

The three day event, organized by Mayweather Jr. will include a performance by Cedric the Entertainer. Other activities
included in the "Mayweather Experience," a rap battle and celebrity basketball game.

Ellerbe quoted by The Grand Rapids Press, stated: "Floyd is one of the biggest stars in entertainment and so he believes in doing things at the highest level."

Ellerbe added: "And he believes his city in Grand Rapids is the best city in the world, and that's what he wanted to do, bring the best of the best to the city....This was all his idea."

An Ocala jury has reached a verdict in the tax evasion trial of Wesley Snipes.Snipes was found not guilty of the serious charges of tax fraud, aiding and abetting in a tax scheme and failing to file a tax refund for three years between 1999-2004.He received a guilty charge for failing to file an income tax return for three years between 1999-2004 - all three charges are misdemeanors.

Jay-Z : Blueprint 3 Album

With his latest album American Gangster still atop the billboard charts. Jay-Z, the former president of Def Jam Records, may be already in the studio working on a new album, and not just any album --according to his latest release on Dj Clue's Desert Storm 8 mixtape-- Jay is planning to release the Blueprint 3.

In the track titled "Aint I" Jay vents about all of the people throwing shots and blaming him for their failure. Camron and even State Property member Peedi Crack have attacked Jay either on wax or verbally over his performance as president of DefJam, and with Hov only having one more album left on his contract with DefJam this just may be the first track released from the forthcoming album.

Well, MTV News contacted Jay-Z's rep Wednesday night. Jay's spokesperson said that, while the song may be new to the general public, it is an old recording that was previously unreleased. Jigga's rep also said he has made no announcement about a new LP, Blueprint 3 or otherwise.

To date American Gangster has sold a total of 953,200 copies.
